Alongside Kobido, not instead of it. Kobido is longer and more intense, Gua Sha is the way in, and the client often pays more later for the longer one.
The Dr.Nek Gua Sha stone with a facial roller costs 11,90 EUR and comes in two versions, jadeite and rose quartz.
The stone is not only for the face. It works on the neck and shoulders, on the back and on the legs, so you have something to offer the client beyond facial treatments.
For you it is extra margin on a visit you were handling anyway, and a purchase that repeats well. The stone is often bought as a gift too.
The client keeps in touch with the technique between appointments and comes back for the professional treatment.
Always on serum or oil. The stone never runs over dry skin, it drags and leaves marks.
Work from the centre of the face outwards and then down to the neck, which is where the lymph drains. The arrows in the picture show the whole route.
Gentle pressure, three to five strokes along each path. At home you work far more gently than in the salon.
Five minutes in the morning is enough. In the evening the stone is better used to release the jaw and the temples.
Rinse it in lukewarm water after use and wipe it dry. The stone does not belong in a dishwasher, and it keeps well in the fridge, where it cools more pleasantly.
We have no published dates. Monika will contact you after your order and you find a day that suits you, weekends included.
The in person course in Prague runs for three people at most, so the trainer can correct pressure and guiding for each of you.
Until the date comes round, you have the online course available immediately and can practise at home.
We train in Prague one to one, just you and the trainer, and set the date around your flight. In English, Russian and Ukrainian directly, other languages with an interpreter.
Prices
The in person course runs at the Dr.Nek salon, Kloboučnická 4, Prague 4, and we agree the date individually. Notes and a certificate are included with every option. The only differences are whether the stone and serum are in the box and whether the notes arrive printed.

A facial massage with a flat stone guided across the skin in set directions and under set pressure. It releases tension in the facial muscles, moves the lymph and drains swelling. The features come forward and the skin gets its colour back.
No. A roller only skims the surface. A Gua Sha stone works with its edge and with pressure that reaches the muscle and the lymphatic pathways. And above all there is a technique behind it: directions, the order of the areas, and pressure that changes from place to place.
Yes. Swelling around the eyes and along the jaw goes down during the treatment and the features look sharper. That matters when you are selling it, because the client does not have to wait for anything.
Around thirty to forty five minutes, depending on whether you do it on its own or as the finish to a facial.
From too much pressure or from working on dry skin. On the face you work gently and always on oil or serum. Classic body Gua Sha produces those marks on purpose, on the face it is not done. The course draws that line right at the start.
Kobido is a Japanese lifting massage done by hand and it is markedly more intense and longer. Gua Sha is shorter, gentler and works with a stone. In a price list they do not compete, they complement each other and you can offer the client both.
With inflamed acne at the site, a cold sore, broken skin, straight after fillers and with a fever. Contraindications get their own chapter in the course.
The in person course at our salon in Prague 4 including the equipment, meaning the stone you will be working with, plus notes and a certificate. You leave able to start straight away.
The teaching is identical in all of them. The course on its own for 40,60 EUR is video and notes, you source the stone yourself. The 61,10 EUR bundle adds a Gua Sha stone and a 30 ml hyaluronic acid serum. The 81,60 EUR option is the same again, only with the notes printed and posted to you.
We have our own Dr.Nek stones in two versions, jadeite and rose quartz, both with a roller for 11,90 EUR. In the bundles from 61,10 EUR the stone is included. You always need a serum or an oil, the face is never worked dry.
We do not publish fixed dates. Courses for English speaking students run at our salon in Prague and we agree the day individually, weekends included. Monika will contact you after your order and you find a date together. We teach in English, Russian and Ukrainian ourselves and arrange an interpreter for other languages. We ask for payment before the course takes place and move your date once free of charge. Details are on our page about individual training in Prague.
