What you get

Why train with us?

The things that matter, short enough to read on a phone.

  • The course costs 40,60 EUR with course notes and a certificate included. Access comes by email within five working days at the latest.
  • A treatment lasts an hour and a half and belongs among the higher priced items on a price list.
  • No device and no oil. A mat, loose clothing and your hands are enough.
  • You stand apart from salons that only offer a classic massage.
  • You learn to work with your body weight rather than your arms, so you last more clients in a day.
  • We take contraindications seriously. The course says plainly when to send a client to a doctor.

What Thai massage deals with

A stiff neck and shoulders from desk work, where a classic massage helps for a few days only because it does not work with the range of movement.

Shortened muscles at the back of the legs and in the hips, which kneading alone will not lengthen.

General tension and restlessness. Working with the breath and a slow rhythm settles a client differently from a quick sports massage.

Thai massage is called lazy yoga precisely because it stretches the body for the client.

What Thai massage deals with

How a treatment runs

The client stays dressed and lies on a mat. No oil is used, so they can leave straight after the massage.

The sequence runs from the feet upwards, through the legs, buttocks and back to the neck, head and arms.

The therapist alternates pressure from palms, thumbs, forearms and elbows with passive stretching that guides the limb into its range.

The whole body is covered once and symmetrically. That is why a treatment takes an hour to an hour and a half.

Who the course is for

For therapists who want a longer and higher priced treatment on their list.

For beauticians and salons that have room for a mat and want to offer something other than a classic massage.

For physiotherapists and yoga teachers, for whom the stretching part follows naturally from what they already do.

Previous experience helps but is not required. The course starts from the therapist position and the basic holds.

Common questions

What people ask us most

How does Thai massage differ from a classic massage?

A classic massage kneads the muscle with oil on bare skin. Thai massage works through clothing, with no oil, using pressure along the sen energy lines and passive stretching. The client lies on a mat on the floor and the therapist uses their own body weight, palms, thumbs, forearms, elbows, knees and feet.

Do I need a massage couch?

You do not. Traditionally the work is done on a mat on the floor, because the therapist moves around the client and needs to reach them from every side. A low futon or a wide couch works too, as you can see in the photos. A normal narrow massage couch is not suitable.

How long does a treatment take?

Sixty to ninety minutes. The classic sequence goes through the whole body from the feet upwards, so a shorter treatment makes little sense. That length is exactly what makes it one of the higher priced items on a price list.

Does it hurt?

It should not. The pressure follows the client and the stretches are done slowly and with the breath. The course shows you how to find the limit you do not go past and how to talk to the client during the treatment.

Do I need to be strong?

Less than you might think. Body weight and positioning take the place of strength. The course covers this on its own, because poor positioning tires the therapist out after three clients and leaves their back hurting more than the client.

What does the client wear?

Loose comfortable clothing in a fabric that stretches. Most salons keep their own trousers and a T shirt ready, because it is easier for the client and it looks more professional.

When should Thai massage not be done?

With acute inflammation, a fresh fracture, thrombosis, an acute disc herniation, after recent surgery, with osteoporosis and in pregnancy without a doctor agreeing. Contraindications are a chapter of their own in the course.

Is the course in English?

Yes. The video has English subtitles or English audio, and the course notes and the certificate are in English. We send you access by email within five working days at the latest and you can come back to it whenever you like.

Do I get a certificate?

Yes, a certificate of completion is included in the price along with the professional course notes.

Do you offer anything after the course?

Yes. We list your business free of charge on our partner map of more than 500 salons in Czechia, which sends enquiries your way. On top of that a booking and till system worth 500 CZK a month free, and access to our wholesale price list.
